Our Preschool room is for children aged 4-5 years and focuses on getting the children ready for school. The children benefit from an information computer technology area, nature area with a light box, music area, creative area with a painting easel and a large role play area that is regularly changed to stimulate the children’s imaginations.
The children also benefit from taking part in P.E. lessons, The Oxford Reading Tree and the Jolly Phonics scheme. To find out more please download our preschool guide for parents.
All of the activities of our Preschool are aimed at smoothing the transition to a primary school. This ranges from practical areas, such as helping children to become used to wearing a uniform and carrying a book bag, to areas of emotional and educational development. We continue to follow the standards of the Early Years Foundation Stage, delivered with the Casterbridge Quality Approach.
