All children at Eton Manor will have an individual education plan that is completed in consultation with the parents, generally during the parents evening which take place twice a year. This ensures that all children are being monitored and supported at all times.
Through regular observations the staff team have a really good understanding of all of the children’s development needs and regularly plan next steps of development for each child. Every week these are included in the weekly planning so that the activities carried out have aims and objectives.
All of the children have profiles where the child's Key Person records the child's level of development. All parents are given family practitioner forms every three months. This allows parents to observe their child in a different environment meaning that the staff team is able to incorporate part of the child's home life in with their weekly planning.
Before every parents evening, when a child moves rooms or when a child leaves to go to school, all children will have a completed progress report by their key person to ensure that their knowledge of the child is passed over.
All of the equipment that is provided for the children is age appropriate and accessible to them at all times. This encourages them to learn through their own play (child led activities) and to allow them to make choices.
All children over 2 years of age are encouraged to brush their teeth after their main meal as part of their regular routine.
We have an Inclusion Co-ordinator (Louise Burns) who helps and supports all of the nursery team with inclusion. This means that all children who either speak a different language or are looked after by other carers outside of the nursery are worked with to ensure they are fully included in the nursery environment.
We have a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (Emma Pike) who is responsible for recognising and supporting children who have additional needs.
We have a Behavior Management Co-ordinator (Emma Lowman) who is responsible for supporting children, parents and the staff team with managing children’s behavior effectively.
We have a Health and Safety Co-ordinator (Claire Hudson) who is responsible for ensuring that all health and safety policies and procedures in the nursery are up to date and fully in place.
